Little Forge Studio ("we") develops ScareCrow ("the app") for Meta Horizon / Meta Quest headsets. This policy explains exactly what data the app collects, how that data is used and processed, where it is stored, how long it is kept, and how you can ask us to delete it.
ScareCrow is a single-player game with no sign-in of its own: it uses the Meta account already signed in on your headset. The app uses the Meta Platform SDK to sell optional add-ons through the Meta Horizon Store. When you use the features listed below, the app collects and processes the following data about you:
| Data | Why the app collects it | When |
|---|---|---|
| Meta User ID — the account identifier Meta assigns to you | To identify you as the same player across sessions, so that the add-on purchases the app looks up, restores, and credits are the ones that belong to your own Meta account and not to someone else's. The app does not display your user ID, does not write it to storage, and does not send it to us or to any third party. | At app start, and whenever you buy, restore, or use an add-on. |
| Your add-on purchase records — for each add-on you have bought from us through the Meta Horizon Store: a purchase identifier, the add-on's product code, and whether it is a permanent item or a consumable pack of skill charges | To unlock the produce packs and bundle you have paid for, to credit each pack of skill charges you have bought to your in-game balance exactly once, and to show the current price of each add-on in the in-game shop. | At app start, and again each time a purchase is completed. |
| Your in-game balances and settings — how many skill charges you have left, a marker of which purchases have already been credited (by purchase identifier), and your floor-height calibration | So that charges you have bought are still there next time you play, so that no purchase is credited twice, and so the game is placed at the right height for you. | When a charge is bought or used, and when the floor is calibrated. |
| Gameplay statistics — a log of your throws in a round (throw speed, hit or miss, distance, which crow, which hand you threw with, how far from the centre of your play area you stood, and the game's own settings at the time) | For the game's own diagnostics and tuning. This log contains no identifier of you. | During play. |
The app does not collect your real name, email address, location, contacts, friends list, display name, profile picture, payment or billing details, voice, camera images, hand-tracking data, or room/space data. It does not request microphone, camera, or scene-capture permissions. The app contains no advertising SDK, no third-party analytics, and no crash-reporting service. There is no leaderboard, no achievement service, and no multiplayer.
Meta User ID and purchase records are processed and stored by Meta Platforms, Inc. on the Meta Horizon platform, using Meta's In-App Purchases service, under Meta's privacy policy. The app asks Meta's Platform SDK for this data and receives it on your headset; we operate no servers of our own and keep no copy of it on any system we control. We never see your payment details: Meta runs the entire checkout, and no card or billing information reaches the app.
Your balances, settings, and gameplay statistics are stored only in the app's own storage area on your headset. They are never uploaded to us or to anyone else. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its data in the headset's settings, removes them.
We do not combine any of this data with other sources, do not sell or share it, do not give it to any data processor or service provider, and do not use it for advertising or profiling. The only network traffic the app causes is Meta's own Platform SDK talking to Meta.
We do not retain your Meta user ID: the Platform SDK uses it on your headset and the app never stores it. Purchase records are retained by Meta under Meta's own policy, so that add-ons you own can be restored on any headset you sign into. The app keeps purchase records in memory while it is running, and keeps on your headset a marker of which purchases it has already credited, so that a consumable is never credited twice. Your balances, settings, credited-purchase markers, and gameplay statistics stay on your headset until you uninstall the app or clear its data. Because skill-charge balances are stored only on your device, uninstalling the app discards charges you have bought but not yet used; permanent add-ons are restored from Meta after you reinstall.
You can ask us to delete the data the app has collected about you, at any time and free of charge. This applies to every user, wherever you live. You do not need to give a reason, and asking does not affect your ability to keep playing.
Meta's privacy policy, linked above, explains how to exercise your rights over the data Meta holds about you, independently of us.
ScareCrow is intended for teens and adults (13+, or the applicable minimum age in your region) and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app and provided data, contact us at the address above and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal data an app holds about you, or to object to how it is used. To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below; we will respond within 30 days. Requests about the data Meta holds can also be made directly to Meta under its privacy policy.
